Homemade White Bread (pretty easy)

Adapted from Val Inman’s White Bread Recipe.  This is the final nub before we finished eating it all:)

Not too much to say except that is tastes like homemade white bread, its easy, and gets eaten pretty quickly:)

yields: 2 loaves

2 T. yeast
2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
2 1/2 c. white flour
4 T. honey
2 t. kosher salt
2 cups warm water
1/4 c. canola oil

In a glass bowl, combine water and yeast. Add salt, honey, and oil.
In a separate bowl, combine flours.  Using a wooden spoon, mix liquid ingredients into the flour and stir together. Knead the dough for about 2 minutes. Sprinkle with flour to prevent too much sticking. Drizzle dough with a little bit of canola oil, use hands to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let dough rise (1-2  hours). Punch dough down. Split into 2 pieces, then split each piece into thirds. Elongate each piece in order to braid the dough. Braid dough and lay it onto a parchment paper line cookie sheet. Do same for the second half of the dough in order to make two loaves. Let dough rise for another 30 minutes. Bake at 325 degrees for 23 minutes.
