First of all, I want to put an emphasis on the word, QUICK! I have been looking for something like this for a long time because I wake up on Saturday morning with a craving for sticky delicious cinnamon rolls, only to realize it will take me half a day to make them and it will be after lunch until they’re done. This is my solution: store-bought pizza dough! It took me 30 minutes, including baking time to make these. They were fresh, sticky, buttery, and totally satisfied my homemade cinnamon roll craving.
My Pizza Dough Picks:
1. Trader Joes
2. Whole Foods
White pizza dough
1/4 butter, melted
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2. c. coconut
1/2 c. nuts (almond, walnuts, pecan…pick one)
2 t. cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On a floured surface, spread dough out into a large rectangle, like you’re making a pizza. Brush pizza with melted butter. Top with the remaining ingredients, one at a time. Roll dough into a jelly roll. Cut rolls to desired thickness. Place rolls into lightly greased small casserole dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes until rolls are cooked through and lightly golden on top.
If you like a lot of butter, sugar, and stick, then put a butter brown sugar mixture on the bottom of the pan before placing the rolls inside. When the rolls are finished, flip them over and let the goo melt down into the roll:)
